Time to Make a Splash at Aquaventure

Our Caribbean vacation with our children was a smashing success this year, thanks mainly to Aquaventure Water Park. The water park is a part of the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, near Nassau, in the Bahamas. We considered the Bahamas for our vacation this year because we were very keen to experience Atlantis and its facilities. When we booked the vacation in Atlantis, it was with the idea that the kids would enjoy themselves at the water park and in Dolphin Cay for a couple of days and we could enjoy ourselves at the casino and the night club in the evenings .

Atlantis was huge; it was almost like a holiday village on its own. There were several towers and a number of pools for adults and for children. I liked the Beach Tower, it was close to the beach, and the kids loved the lazy river ride, just outside the tower. Sometimes, I would just sit with a book on the pool deck chairs and watch other little ones play in the kids pool. They had fun! But my children were older and they had the most fun in AquaVenture Water Park.. The liked the Current the most, with its rapids and underground tunnels and tidal waves that tossed you about. Two of the older kids tried their hands at rock climbing, after an hour or so of instruction and they loved it. I am sure they are going to try the tricks that they learnt in the little hill near our summer cottage in the countryside, thanks to this Caribbean vacation.

Dolphin Cay was a revelation for the children - they realized that these gentle creatures can be playful and enjoyed interacting with them. During their visit to the Marine Habitat, I saw them watch with wonder the huge variety of marine life that they never knew existed..
