What a great summer it has been. Last week we went on a mtn bike ride through the Sequoia Park. It was an glorious trip, but began with the punishing drive. My gear was packed with my bike ready the night before. I started the ride up alone as I left early from the office. I was on a race against time as I was supposed to meet my buddies at the top of the mountain road, marked by a picnic table, at 8pm. I knew my window of opportunity was about thirty mins. If I didnt make it in time, they would come back the next day to find me. This means if I was too late, I would end up sleeping in my car alone that night.

Well I didnt have to sleep in the car alone that night. I made it in time to crack a beer and pedal around on the bike a bit and enjoy the fresh mountain air The air was crisp and I was excited to be away from the city. My Santa Cruz Heckler was in tip top shape and ready to tear up some rails and free riding, fresh out of the shop. Friends arrived beers in hand and ready to show me where the campsite was.

We began our mtn bike ride the next morning, each if us carrying 40lb packs ensuring enough food and water to last at least 12hrs of long hard riding. The first hill was killer and was a rude awakening to a very long mtn bike ride. We pedaled over 10 miles uphill, that took over 2hrs. It was a great feeling to finally make it to the top. I chugged nice clean water out of my stainless steel water bottle.

The rest of the day was spent busting tricks, hitting logs and enticing each other to go big. A couple of breaks were in order throughout the day where we drank a bit of booze and shared treats we had packed away. The dirt was just right. Not too dry as to cause any dust and not too wet that our wheels would get stuck. It was nice to see just a bit of snow left on the ground in certain spots.

There could be the dry pool, and this is where you could take your energy and diet supplements, like acceletrim, and exercise without gravity. You could do a few laps in the dry pool and you will be swimming just like if there was water there. The thing that would make this work would be the walls and the look of the room, it could look just like a pool area. There are so many neat things that can be thought off and created, it is going to be so much fun, so hurry up time, we all want to take a vacation in outer space.

Sherchan just 25 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.
