Baldness for Gents Can Be Awful

Going bald in lads affects approximately 9 million in the United Kingdom, the most common sort of hair loss is genetic male pattern hair loss. The hair loss will often develop as very early as twenty three and develop emotional turmoil.

Male pattern baldness is traditionally genetic and will probably hit males as well as females. The loss of hair seems due to the hair follicles on the head getting smaller and the hair strands dropping out and not returning. Hair loss routinely follows a pattern around the hair line and additionally at the middle of your head.

Losing hair is not a horrible disease and does not affect directly your actual health, although your emotional health will probably become affected through the distress. Discover the latest hair loss techniques from Carl Howell from Advanced Hair Studio, home to hair restoration.

There are three tremendous primary treatment methods for loss of hair, Minoxidil, Finasteride and Strand by Strand from Advanced Hair Studio, also known as AHS. The very first big genetic baldness treatment is a topical lotion that is applied on the head and can be purchased from health websites. Minoxidil works by reducing and slowing down the rate of hair loss, simply terrific. Finasteride works through blocking the conversion of the loss of hair hormone. The eye-opening Strand by Strand hair restoration method from Advanced Hair Studio, aka AHS, uses the very latest hair regrowth medical technology and involves new hair regrowth appearing on the head strand by strand over a brief amount of time. With both the Minoxidil and Finasteride treatment methods they need to be constantly applied and taken for the hair growth effects to work.

What Awesome Things Could Help to Prevent Hair Loss in Chaps

The most depressing part of a receding hair line for lads is that there is no cure. Loss of hair has been a massive problem for chaps in the universe but there are awesome treatments that may minimise further baldness.

There is a topical treatment for loss of hair called Minoxidil that might be taken in capsule or lotion form and will help people regrow their hair and prevent further hair loss. The baldness lotion comes in a variety of strengths with 5 percent being the most popular. The treatment is used under the guidance of a nurse and should be made aware that it is not a fantastic miracle cure. However, the awesome success of this treatment is approx two thirds. The hair loss treatment medication course is a minimum of 3 months before fantastic results might often show and all men are recommended to continue the hair loss treatment for at least six months.

For blokes that don?t observe any success with the hair loss treatment they may try hair transplants. Hair loss surgery is a permanent solution and involves moving the skin on the head to stop bald areas. Hair plugs can be high priced and involves a surgical procedure so may not be for every guy. The best solution for a painful tennisarm is there now

The diameter of the contact area was 806 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 310 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain. The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. All PPT measurements were conducted 21 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. For 8 months gain settings were standardized and kept constant. Further, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the gone 4 years.

B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on eight patients with unilateral tennisarm. An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 14 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the last 5 weeks.

A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. However, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 2 hours. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 2 minutes. Results are presented as mean. Therefore, there were no significant differences after 4 days.

Tennisarm injury, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. The inflammation of the unilateral epicondylitis lateralis, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle. Nevertheless, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. Indeed, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 9 days in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. Further, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with tennisarm injury. Next 6 months, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. Nevertheless, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 6 years.

Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 188 to 826.

Indeed, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution.

7 Pointers For Using That Home Or Office Punching Bag!

In a recent article I suggested that every business invest in a punching bag because it’s a great way to dissipate tensions and it’s also a good way to get into shape.

But I forgot to tell you anything about using it, and at least for safety purposes, we should cover these points:

(1) When punching, fully form your fist into a tight package.

(2) The striking surface of a fist is NOT your baby knuckles, but the first two, the biggest ones. These are the ones that should make the primary contact.

(3) Keep your wrist aligned with your hand, not bent on an angle.

(4) Do not try to kill the bag! You won’t succeed and it will kill you first. Only allow your hand to penetrate the surface until the bag pushes back. That is the safest, maximum point of penetration.

(5) Don’t hyperextend your arm, locking it out at the elbow. Make contact with the bag at three-quarters of a full extension of the arm.

(6) Retract your strike quickly. Don’t leave it out there. If you do, the bag will hit you back!

(7) All of these principles apply to kicks, as well.

You can use gloves and shoes or suitable foot coverings to lessen direct impacts with skin and bones.

But if you’re training for combat, you’ll want to “graduate” to using bare knuckles and feet.

And remember, less is more, particularly as you begin bag work. Injuries will only force you to stop training, so even the most minute progress beats being sidelined!

BioTech in 2005 and Predictions for 2006

The research dollars and venture capital flowing into Biotech has been astounding in 2005. Many regional economic development associations continue to look to Biotech as clean industry with high-paying jobs to spur on regional economic growth. Advances in cures for cancer, nanotech, artificial blood, vaccines and human computer interfaces all made headlines, as well as some ethical issues concerning stem cells, cloning and growing of body parts, tissue and skin. Transplants were also at the top of the scene by yearend as attempts were considered for brain transplants and an actual first face transplant was completed.

In fact there was so many no innovations and changes that were brought forth in 2005 that many alarmists were in fear of destroying the sanctity of life and crossing the line of what it is to be human. Their battle cry echoed thru the halls of Congress; “Life is not forsale!” Now or ever they said. Indeed few could disagree, yet others showed how fuzzy and gray that the line really was with regards to Stem Cells and Adult Stem Cell Lines. Citing issues with degenerative diseases and lost limbs, many from combat and service to our nation.

What will BioTech bring us in 2006; will there be more conflict and disagreements on the issue of ethics? Will there be more white papers and research called into question? Will there be fraud and manipulations in trials to speed the process of bringing new drugs, procedures and therapies to market? Will life never be for sale or will death go on sale? Will we figure out a way to modify our surroundings and defeat diseases? If so which ones will fall to defeat in 2006; which pathogens, viruses and flu will we finally conquer? Will life-extension be one step closer? Will we finally allot the necessary funding to cure cancer? What will 2006 show us in the Biotech Industry? Will this be the year we figure it all out or will this be another stepping stone closer to seeing the light at the end of this long tunnel? Think on it.

Internet research

My company just recently reduced my hours at work for me and for about 10 other employees. We no longer meet the minimum number of hours per week to receive health care.

We are all looking into our alternatives to health insurance cobra to see if there may be a better deal. Is there an internet company that can provide us insurance as a small group working for the same company? We are still on with the job but their current health plan does not stipulate if there is a group of us that can be covered if we work lesser hours.

I have only been offered health insurance cobra one time in my life and from what I can remember it was far too expensive for me to afford it. If I remember correctly I did not receive as much coverage as I did when I was working and the price was about 3 times the amount.

Has that changed at all in recent years? Maybe when I first was offered Cobra is was closer to when it first was made available to the public? I just could not fathom how an unemployed person could afford such an expensive health care.

The pen is mightier than the detox: fighting the fat

I’ll never forget that morning when I woke up, looked in the mirror, and realised I was fat. It’s a big step to take, to admit to yourself that those love handles didn’t use to be there and that double chin doesn’t do anything for you. Of course, I’ve been ’stocky’ for a while- several years if I’m going to be honest. I’m not really sure how it happened. I don’t think I eat more than I used to and I’m always rushing around doing things. Anyway, all those excuses aside, once I’d actually admitted to myself that that reflection was best described as ‘fat’, I realised I’d better do something about it.

To cut a very long story short, it took me about three weeks of time-wasting to decide what course of action to take. In those three weeks, I read a lot of health books, looked at a lot of websites and watched a lot of television. The show that really spoke to me was Gillian Mckeith’s ‘You Are What You Eat’. And my choice of solution? I write down everything I eat and what exercise I do. And so far, it’s working! It made me realise just how much rubbish I manage to fit in between all those ‘healthy’ meals and how, without setting aside time, I never did any real exercise.

Truth told, a few tweaks here and there seem to doing the treat- those love handles are slowly thinning away and my double chin’s more of an extra half than a whole. My advice would be to just act sensibly- learn about what you’re eating and, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be motivated to change.

What Are The Different Types Of Acne Products?

People will try anything to treat acne. I’ve been recommended to steam my face over boiling water to cleanse the pores. Which I later read is a bad idea since heat and humidity actually makes acne worse. In researching the topic, I found a woman who used an egg white mask when she felt pimples coming on. She actually foamed up some egg whites, put them on her face, let them dry, and got on her computer to rave about her fantastic results. So that may work for some, but most people are interested in acne products that produce results.

There are tons of products out there to treat acne. You can get them at the grocery store, but if that’s not cutting it you can always get a prescription from a dermatologist for a stronger dose. Most acne products contain one of four chemicals: benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur or resorcinol. You can find grocery store products containing any or all of these, and it may take some trial and error to find out which acne products will help you the most. If you go to a dermatologist they may prescribe a stronger solution of benzoyl peroxide or many other treatments including oral antibiotics, oral contraceptives, or accutane.

Arsenic, the Poisoning of a Nation

I am Dr Patrick Flanagan, and this is the latest edition of my
Dr Health Secrets newsletter.

I am a scientist with over 300 inventions related to health,
longevity and medicine. This newsletter installment is about
toxins in our water and food supply. I found that some
substances are far more widespread than I thought. So I decided
to write this newsletter about arsenic and its effects on your
body.

Childhood Memories

It seems like only yesterday when you could relax with the
knowledge that you weren’t drinking raw sewage, parasites, or
caustic chemicals. I remember the days as a child when I could
grab a glass from the cabinet and fill it with some nice, clean,
cool, refreshing tap water and drink it down on a hot summer
day. Truth is, I have found research on toxins showing that
chemicals have been finding their way into our water supplies
for almost a hundred years. Fluoride was added in 1945, but
chlorine took the lead in 1911, when it was first added to
public drinking water as a “disinfectant.”

Up until recently, health advocates and environmentalists found
their pleas falling on deaf ears in regards to how unsafe tap
water truly is. When I told people twenty years ago that their
tap water was poisoned, they could not believe me even though
there was plenty of data proving it. Even ten years ago people
were suspicious of such claims, but due to recent health scares
with water supplies and bottled water, people are starting to
stand up and take notice.

Many people boycott drinking tap water on taste alone; chlorine
is often noticed by the palette and rather unappetizing. Others
have shied away because of health concerns, but the fact still
remains that most people still use water in many other aspects
of their daily lives: bathing, laundry, dish cleaning, cooking,
coffee, tea, etc.

I Smell A Rat

The next substance I want to tell you about is arsenic. Arsenic
on the periodic chart is atomic number 33, but arsenic is so
much more than a simple number. Still widely used today, arsenic
is commonly found in wood preservatives, agricultural products,
glass, and most notably, rat poison. Yes, rat poison. This
harmful and toxic chemical is currently residing in your tap
water. This is not a comforting thought.

The EPA strongly pushes for regulations on cancer causing
materials and typically doesn’t allow a substance that has more
than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing cancer to be within our
water. At 0.5 parts per billion, arsenic has a 1 in 10,000
chance of causing cancer. Do you think that arsenic levels
within public drinking water never rise beyond 0.5 parts per
billion? I wish I could say that they did not, but most of us
know otherwise.

Arsenic levels range all over the charts, and in 18 states,
including Arizona, California, and Nevada, arsenic levels are
at, and even sometimes greater than, 0.5 parts per billion.
Assuming we were all drinking water from just the 18 states with
arsenic at the accepted level of .5 parts per billion, then out
of the current U.S. population of 296,241,806 roughly 29,624
people could develop some form of cancer from arsenic.

Currently, arsenic is found in the drinking water of over
22,000,000 American homes. This number is only accounting for
the areas that actually had their water tested. There are still
vast areas of this country that have no idea what their drinking
water contains. Arsenic poisoning over an extended period of
time can lead to damage of the central and peripheral nervous
systems, heart and blood vessels, serious skin irritations and
problems, birth defects, reproductive problems, and many more.
As of late, scientists and medical professionals have argued
that arsenic isn’t safe at any level within drinking water.

Tune Up

With all of the harmful chemicals that are fighting their way
into your body at every given moment, help your body’s defense
team strike back.

There are numerous ways to pull heavy metals out of the human
system. Some methods work for you and help support your body’s
health at the same time. The process of pulling heavy metal out
of a human system is called “chelation” (key-LAY-shun). Silica
is a natural chelator and there are special forms of
microcluster® silica that are small enough to reach heavy
metals. Ask your vitamin store for it.

Air Moisture And Your Health

Having clean air to breathe is not just a luxury and many people are learning about the various ways to improve air quality when they are indoors. One of the methods to help improve air quality is the use of humifiers and dehumidifiers to control the moisture in the air. Air moisture may not be something that you thought a lot about, but it could be a large contributing factor to the negative symptoms that you experience at times.

That means then that air moisture can be a very important factor in comfort when you are indoors and can also significantly contribute to your overall health as well. Consider the following health issues and how it relates to air moisture:

Many allergy sufferers have a severe allergic reaction to mold in the are or on surfaces and fabrics around them. This mold issue is usually directly tied to the amount of moisture that is present in the air in that space. By reducing the air moisture content the mold allergy can often be brought under manageable control. High humidity at high temperatures can also sometimes lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke in extreme cases. And dust mites that often trigger allergy attacks begin to die off when the humidity level drops below 50%.

On the flip side, when the air is too dry people can be uncomfortable and can suffer from dry mucus membranes which can lead to nosebleeds and infections. Low humidity can also aggravate the symptoms of asthma at times.

A good way to track air moisture indoors is to get a digital hygrometer to actually monitor the humidity in the air. It’s a simple gadget to read and the information it produces can be invaluable.

You see most people feel comfortable at 45-50% humidity between 68-72 degrees. That is considered the optimal comfort zone. Some variance on either side of the optimum zone is fine, but wide fluctuations can be hard on your health. If the humidity level falls below 30% you should turn on an air humidifier to help put moisture back. If the moisture level consistently rises above 60% in your home, you should employ a dehumidifier or air conditioner to reduce the moisture level.

By following the guidelines listed here you can help increase your indoors comfort level and improve your health easily and quickly.
