A Primer on Height Safety and Safety at Work
Doing work far above the ground in a secure fashion isn’t only a self-explanatory prerequisite to assure the well-being of your employees, it lets them do their job properly without trouble, especially if you are operating potentially hazardous machinery like petrol chain saws in a position like this.
Height falls are the greatest single cause of deaths and the second greatest cause of injuries at work in the British Isles. There is a regulation called “The Work at Height Regulations” - this places obligations on company owners, those who work for themselves and anyone that controls the work of others to offer the safest method of working at height.
You must choose the strongest tool for the task at hand. If the job requires some concentration, the last thing you wish to worry about is tumbling off a ladder. This is why something like a Power tower is truly the greatest instrument for such intensive work far off the ground.
Let’s look at one such tool. The power tower is a perpetually growing array of push into position, mobile access platforms, designed to offer a choice of secure, convenient and practical solutions when working at lower heights. No need to climb large steps, podiums or erect scaffold towers. Just push the power tower into the correct location, walk on to the platform, and push a button.
Doing work far above the ground comes with peripheral dangers as well - to other workers below you. You must make safe the working area on the ground directly below to verify falling debris won’t fall on employees below; e.g. those using floor saws directly below the workzone above.
